The initiative will see meals given to food banks, charities and community groups over the festive season. "We know that before Christmas, food banks and charities see an increase in demand and this year it is likely to be greater than ever." Asda is the latest in a long line of companies stepping up to help those in need this Christmas. Last month McDonald's also announced it was giving away a million meals to those in need by the end of the year. Co-op also announced it will be donating £1.5 million worth of food to FareShare earlier in the year.
