Global oil prices slipped to their lowest level in three months on Monday. The price of a barrel of Brent crude dropped to $51.42, the weakest level since November Nick Ansell/PAThree of Britain’s biggest petrol retailers have launched a price war that could knock £1 off the price of the average tank of fuel. Price cuts from today at Asda, Tesco and Morrisons end four consecutive months of rises. The average cost of petrol across the UK was 120.07p a litre over the weekend, while diesel cost 122.04p. Global oil prices slipped to their lowest level in three months yesterday.
