It formed part of activities marking the 20th-anniversary celebration of the enstoolment of Otumfuo Osei Tutu. The event, he noted, had been held every five years since Otumfuo Osei Tutu ascended the Golden Stool. After the ceremony, the King proceeded to Mbrom (African Bungalow), a Kumasi suburb, where he also performed some traditional rites. Carried in a palanquin, Otumfuo Osei Tutu and the procession moved through some principal streets in the Central Business District (CBD) of Kumasi before entering the Manhyia Palace.
