He will be replacing Major General John Gomes. A career diplomat, Siam joined the Foreign Service in 1995. Now the chief of protocol at the ministry, he was Director General in charge of Europe Wing. Siam earlier served as Consul General of Bangladesh in Milan and as Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Manchester. He had previously served in Bangladesh missions in Jakarta and Bangkok.
