When mental health systems cannot meet demand, young people will turn to whatever is available. While mental health professionals are bound by strict legal and ethical frameworks, including youth care legislation, AI systems operate largely without such safeguards. It is up to us to make that distinction crystal clear, and to provide the guidance and care young people truly need.
