Legendary and Warner Bros.A strong performance in North America, China and the rest of the world has pushed Kong: Skull Island over the $500 million mark at the worldwide box office. Even though the film cost around $185 million to produce, it's a decent-sized hit and an incredibly promising performance. Watch On Forbes:Kong: Skull Island will likely the $529 million worldwide total of Gareth Edwards' Godzilla today or tomorrow as it will obviously fall short of that 2014 film's $200m domestic total. It will likely catch up to Peter Jackson's King Kong, which earned $550m worldwide back in 2005 (and sans 3D). And even with Logan doing its X-Men thing, Get Out holding court alongside the blockbusters and Beauty and the Beast about to set records, Kong: Skull Island managed decent legs over the last month.
