With event finals scheduled to start at 10 p.m. local time and end after midnight, they feel at added risk. Along with mosquito repellent, some parents are buying special passport holders \ to prevent thieves from intercepting their passport and credit card information. They have been encouraged to check in with the Consulate General of the United States when they arrive in Rio. A few families are looking into booking chauffeured armored vehicles for their stay.
