As Kim crosses into South Korea, a historic summit hangs on the North’s nuclear intentions

“This was a very moving moment for all of us,” said Paik Hak-soon, a North Korea expert at the pro-engagement Sejong Institute outside Seoul. Moon has said that Kim is willing to discuss denuclearization, and without the condition of American troops being withdrawn from South Korea. The summit has won wide approval in South Korea, where there were palpable fears of military action at the end of last year.
