New Delhi: As the Kashmir valley has begun to open up to tourists once again, following a 72-day long blockade, security forces and intelligence units are now keeping a tight watch on any terrorist movement in the region. The vigil comes in the wake of terrorists from the Jaish-e-Mohammad targeting civilians in the region, following the Centre’s decision to lift curbs in Kashmir. We have reason to believe that they will also likely target tourists because the idea is to portray to the world that nothing is normal in Kashmir even though most services have been restored. There is a very tight watch on security in the valley especially now that foreign tourists are about to come in during the ski-season," said a senior Central government official, requesting anonymity. Khanna also stated that the “accused (responsible for killing of the truck driver) would soon be killed or captured to maintain peace in the Kashmir Valley."
