Humana added more than a half million seniors to its Medicare Advantage plans in 2019. "We enter 2020 with positive momentum from strong 2019 results and industry-leading individual Medicare Advantage membership growth," Humana chief financial officer Brian Kane said. The growth in Medicare Advantage helped Humana increase total company revenues to $16.3 billion in the fourth quarter compared to $14.2 billion in the year ago period. But Humana’s bigger focus is on growing and providing more healthcare services for its Medicare Advantage health plan members. Earlier this week, Humana announced plans to launch a $600 million joint venture with private equity giant Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe to develop primary care centers to treat seniors insured by Medicare Advantage plans.
