Tick… tick… tick… the current labor deal between Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association is set to expire in just over a week, and as the deadline nears, word from Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports is that a lockout is possible after the Dec. 1st deadline is hit. The burning question is: is it all just posturing and saber-rattling or something that can cast a pale over the sport? Just a few short weeks ago, execs at the league office sounded optimistic saying that there would be no lockout or strike. And each time there’s been language about forming committees and timelines to get it possibly into place after the labor deal was inked. At the same time, everyone on both sides is aware of the prosperity that’s been built up through lengthy labor peace.”
