According to new report from Statistics Canada the number of trips to Canada by U.S. residents dropped 7.5 per cent in December 2025 compared to December a year earlier. The number of Canadian-resident return trips from the United States continues to slide. Arrivals to Canada by automobile (1.1 million) were down 7.5 per cent year-over-year in December 2025. Canadian-resident return trips from the United States by automobile declined 30.2 per cent to 1.5 million. The number of Canadian-resident return trips by air from the United States (718,400) fell 11 per cent.
