As the election battle hots up in Punjab, senior Akali Dal leader and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal has accused Delhi Chief Minister and AAP chief Arvind Kejriewal of flirting with pro-Khalistani elements. Badal cited the example of Kejriwal’s recent meeting with RP Singh, who heads Babbar Khalsa International, a terrorist organisation. The Akali-BJP combine, which is facing a three-cornered contest, is battling incumbency, having been in power for 10 years. Badal ridiculed former Chief Minister and Congress leader Amarinder Singh’s promise of ending VVIP culture in the state. Badal added that the battle for Punjab was as important as the one for UP.
