Arunachal pradesh: Accidental politician Pema Khandu set to become CM


Pema Khandu is set to take oath as the tenth chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh. Just over five years since, Khandu, 37, is set to take oath as the tenth chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh. Having had nearly nothing to do with politics until then, Khandu was elected the MLA from Mukto Assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh after his father, the then chief minister Dorjee Khandu, died in a helicopter crash on April 30, 2011. Elected the new leader of Congress Legislature Party, in the border state to replace the incumbent, Nabam Tuki, Khandu has never contested an election to become an MLA. Arunachal Pradesh is a frontier state sharing 1050 km boundary with China.
