Bob Arum apologized to Sen. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao for preempting a possible 2022 presidential bid announcement by the boxing icon. I shouldn’t have said anything, and I apologized for that,” Arum told The Manila Times on Thursday morning through an overseas call. Asked if he was surprised that Pacquiao would immediately deny his comments, Arum said: “No because I spoke out of term. Arum, who will turn 90 in 2022, added that if ever Pacquiao would win the presidency, it would be his greatest legacy. Our discussion was all about boxing,” said Pacquiao in a statement sent first to The Manila Times.
