Unai Emery must decide whether to recall outcast former captain Granit Xhaka or continue to overlook the midfielder when Arsenal return to Premier League action against Southampton. The 27-year-old has not featured since his angry outburst upon being substituted against Crystal Palace last month, during which he swore at fans and stormed down the tunnel. But Xhaka did play twice for Switzerland during the international break, helping to secure a victory over Georgia before finding the net in a 6-1 win against Gibraltar as his side booked their spot at Euro 2020. Reports suggest Serie A rivals AC Milan and Inter are set to battle for the loan signature of Xhaka when the January transfer window opens, although it remains to be seen how much club football he will play until then.
