Arsenal suffered a blow in the second half of their clash against Aston Villa, with Thomas Partey having to be taken off due to injury. Partey had started to establish himself in the Arsenal side, forming a partnership with Granit Xhaka at the base of the midfield. A key component in Mikel Arteta's plans, Arsenal will hope for positive news when Partey is assessed. Arsenal again had to cope without Kieran Tierney against Aston Villa, with the defender continuing to struggle with a leg injury. Arsenal are 10th in the table after 23 games, and have now not won in the league in three games.
