The Gabon international made his long-awaited move to the Premier League in 2018 in a £56million deal to join Arsenal. Since the switch to north London, Aubameyang has been a real hit, winning last season’s Premier League golden boot alongside Liverpool stars Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah with 22 strikes. The 30-year-old has now made the number 14 jersey his own, following in the footsteps of Gunners legend Thierry Henry but he has now revealed it was his second choice when he first joined. Despite becoming the club’s record signing last February, Aubameyang says he was unable to get the shirt number he wanted.
