The 30-year-old underwent surgery after going down with the injury in the final few moments of a training session prior to Arsenal’s Champions League group stage encounter with Sevilla. Vieira has been out with the injury since November and Arteta confirmed the Portuguese was ‘very close’ to returning to action last week. It remains to be seen whether Partey and Vieira will be included on the trip.
