Emery was keen on bringing Meunier to Emirates Stadium this summer as back-up for Hector Bellerin, who is recovering from a ruptured knee ligament. Emery bought Meunier during his tenure at PSG and journalist Kristof Terreur revealed on Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast earlier this month that the Spanish coach is keen to reunite with the Belgian. “Unai Emery has been in touch with him a few times because a right-back is a priority at Arsenal,” he said. Meunier has one year left on his Parc des Princes contract and Terreur added his agent “has been pushing around and preparing everything for a move”.
