The pressure has been thrust back onto Arsenal and Mikel Arteta, but the Gunners and technical director Edu cannot abandon their current transfer blueprint and strategyMikel Arteta’s Arsenal picture has become rather clouded by scrutiny and doubt once more. Whatever Arsenal’s Premier League position after their final match at home to Everton on the 22nd May, this campaign should represent nothing more than the passing of phase one. Arteta and Edu will likely have one eye on next season’s transfer targets which may see a similar assault on the transfer window as last season. So a similarly prudent but effective summer onslaught, providing the players can adapt to Arteta and the Premier League, may be needed in just a few months time. As found out after the final whistle at the Emirates Stadium, good form and victories only delays the intense scrutinisation of Arteta, Edu, and their strategy.
