Dildar and Azad are the co-owners of Apan Jewellers with their brother Gulzar Ahmed. CIID began investigating Apan Jewellers soon after the rape case was started against Shafat Ahmed in May this year. The CIID has also accused the Apan Jewellers owners of smuggling gold, jewellery and diamonds. Customs in several raids earlier seized a significant amount of the assets from Apan Jewellers, which could not provide proper documentation for them. Warrants were previously issued for the Apan Jewellers owners in the cases.
