KUALA LUMPUR: An arrest warrant has been issued for former Malaysian External Investigation Organisation (MEIO) director-general Datuk Hasanah Abdul Hamid after she failed to turn up during a proceeding involving her criminal breach of trust case. High Court judge Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah issued the warrant here Friday (May 24) after DPP Mahadhir Mohd Khairudin made the application as Hasanah failed to give any reason for her absence. “I apply for an arrest warrant to be issued against her,” he said. The court however still issued the warrant and fixed June 26 for proceeding on the warrant. Last year, Hasanah claimed trial to committing criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving US$12.1mil (RM50.3mil) of government funds.
