An arrest was made Friday in the death of a man whose body was found after a fire earlier this year in a house in the Trinidad neighborhood of Northeast, D.C. police said. They said Garrett Taylor, 40, of Northeast, was arrested in the death of Awlachew Ayele, 66. Ayele’s body was found Jan. 26, in an apartment in the 1100 block of Queen Street NE after a fire was extinguished there, police said. An autopsy June 7 determed that the cause of Ayele’s death was smoke and soot inhalation with blunt force injuries also significant, the police said.. The death was determined to be a homicide, police said.
