It’s that time of the year again when Leprechauns abound, college basketball is in the midst of March Madness, and Major League Baseball spring training is in full swing. From mid-February until the end of March, major league ball clubs train in either the Cactus League or the Grapefruit League in Florida. To prepare for our trip I consulted the official Cactus League website, which has a nice-looking stadium map, and SpringTrainingConnection.com, a great resource for team reporting dates, ballpark dining guides, and tips for autograph seekers. Although Sloan Park is the best venue in the Cactus League, Scottsdale Stadium is in the most desirable location. The Los Angeles Angels play in Tempe Diablo Stadium, the only stadium in the Cactus League built on a hill so it has a grand staircase entrance.
