Share:RAWALPINDI - In a statement issuedlate Friday, PakistanArmy said the baselessand irresponsible allegations by ChairmanPTI against the institution and particularly, asenior army officer areabsolutely unacceptableand uncalled for. “Pakistan army prides itselffor being an extremely professional and welldisciplined organisation with a robust andhighly effective internal accountability system applicable acrossthe board for unlawfulacts, if any, committed byuniformed personnel,”the ISPR said. However,if the honour, safety andprestige of its rank andfile is being tarnished byvested interests throughfrivolous allegations, theinstitution will jealousysafeguard its officers andsoldiers no matter what. “The baseless allegations hurled at theinstitution/officialstoday are highly regrettable and strongly condemned. No one will beallowed to defame theinstitution or its soldierswith impunity.” Keeping this in view, the government of Pakistan hasbeen requested to inves tigate the matter and initiate legal action againstthose responsible for defamation and false accusations against the institution and its officialswithout any evidencewhatsoever.”
