New Zealand, a young country of 1.1 million, sent about 10% of its population to war. At 11am on November 11, 1918 - Armistice Day- the guns fell silent, their service nearing the end. Thousands of Kiwis made their way home - but thousands remained, buried in Kantara, Beersheba, Lone Pine, Polygon Wood, Etaples, Messines Ridge, Tyne Cot...A century later, New Zealand still remembers them.
