The armed offenders squad (AOS) was involved as a precaution in the operation, on Austin Rd in Normanby, a police spokesperson said. The person was being sought in relation to a family harm matter and was taken into custody without incident after a couple of hours. A 28-year-old male will appear in the Hāwera District Court on Monday on firearms-related charges.
