Airdrie RCMP are on the hunt for an armed man who stole an SUV from after confronting workers on an oil lease site near Crossfield Friday afternoon, police said in a release Saturday. Police say he approached two oil site workers saying he was going to take the SUV but when they refused, he fired a shot into the air. A Calgary police helicopter later located the abandoned vehicle and an RCMP police dog located some of the suspects clothing. RCMP are asking anyone with information to contact the Airdrie detachment at 403-945-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. While on the way to the scene, police came across the man driving the stolen white Toyota Sequoia but he was able to get away.
