An aristocrat accused of committing child sex offences at the stately home where Netflix hit Bridgerton was filmed appeared before a crown court judge yesterday. Simon Howard, 65, is facing a jury trial in October over the allegations involving a girl under 14 at Castle Howard in North Yorkshire in 1984. He appeared at York Crown Court via video link from his solicitor’s office in Bradford. Both offences allegedly took place at the family home, Castle Howard, where the 1980s TV series Brideshead Revisited and 2008 movie were also filmed. Built in the early 1700s, Castle Howard has been in his family for ten generations.
