The incident happened in the Ramallah Café on Pembina Highway near Nassau Street North shortly after 11 p.m. Monday, according to police. A police spokesperson said the restaurant and hookah café was busy when an argument escalated to the point where two people were assaulted. The Winnipeg Police Service's tactical unit and Air1 helicopter were brought in during the investigation, police said. The café told CBC News in a Facebook message the restaurant, which stays open late on weekdays, will be closed until the investigation is complete.
