Argonaut quarterback Ricky Ray nominated for CFL MVP


Argos quarterback Ricky Ray, who set team and personal records this season, has been named the team’s nominee for the Canadian Football League’s most outstanding player awards. Four other Argos were nominated by voters, including Bear Woods (defensive player), James Wilder Jr. (rookie), Martese Jackson (special teams), and Sean McEwen (outstanding offensive lineman, outstanding Canadian). Voting was conducted by the Football Reporters of Canada and eight CFL head coaches. Ray will be going up against Edmonton quarterback Mike Reilly. The other nominees include linebackers Alex Singleton of Calgary, Solomon Elimimian of B.C., Kyries Hebert of Montreal and Larry Dean of Hamilton, Winnipeg quarterback Matt Nichols, Saskatchewan receiver/cornerback Duron Carter and Ottawa receiver Greg Ellingson.
