SHB Da Nang's Argentinean striker scored a double against Sai Gin FC during their match on their home turf, Chi Lang Stadium. SHB Da Nang won 3-1 and continued their hopes of winning the tournament title again. SHB Da Nang will play former champion Hoang Anh Gia Lai on September 11 in Chi Lang. Merlo won the best scorer title in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
