Perhaps it was this pre-MBA experience that inspired the latest generation of business school entrepreneurs. Among the top 5 MBA startups of 2017, three of them – Deliveroo, DoorDash and Grofers - are food delivery platforms. Deliveroo, co-founded in London by Wharton MBA William Shu was the hands down winner last year. Deliveroo is the first venture to top the Poets & Quants Top MBA Startups that does not come from Boston or Palo Alto. But the number of HBS and Stanford MBAs going straight into startups is declining.
