The contest was held to classify all the 64 archers in the ranking round. The knock-out Olympic round (1/32) will take place on Monday, with Kim Woojin taking on Zimbabwean Gavin Sutherland and Indonesian Riau Ega Agatha challenging Chinese Yu Xing. In the Friday's ranking round, Kim Woojin topped all challengers with new world record of 700 points, followed by American Brady Ellison and Italian David Pasqualucci, who scored 690 and 685 points respectively. The knock-out Olympic rounds (1/32 round) will next be contested in order that the 32 winners will advance to the following rounds including the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, all to be held on Saturday, August 13.
