Bill Hwang has given more than $500 million to his Grace & Mercy Foundation since 2015. More than $500 million of that amount came during the four most recent years of filings, from 2015 through 2018. The foundation distributed $79.1 million in grants to dozens of organizations from 2007 to 2018, filings show, with payments growing in size in recent years. Of that total, the foundation paid out $16.6 million in grants in 2018 and $10.7 million in 2017. A spokesperson for Hwang’s foundation did not reply to a request for comment.
