The deadline to reach agreements with arbitration-eligible players is coming right up on Friday. The Mets have seven players that they would currently go to arbitration with. Once the deadline passes on Friday, the team will put in what they believe is the value for each player and the player puts in what they believe they are worth. The Mets should probably think about approaching Alonso with an extension at some point soon with him scheduled to become a free agent following the 2024 season. McNeil will be a free agent after the 2024 season as well and is another potential target for the Mets to extend long-term.
