The 29th Arab Summit held in the Saudi eastern city of Dhahran Sunday has affirmed unanimous support for Morocco’s bid to host the 2026 football World Cup. The announcement was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita who was part of the Moroccan delegation to the Summit. “The (Arab) summit has unanimously affirmed its support for Morocco’s bid to organize the 2026 World Cup tournament and called upon all Arab States to provide full and unfailing support for this candidacy,” Bourita told the media at the end of the Arab Summit. Morocco, which is making its fifth bid to host a World Cup football tournament, has as rival the joint bid of the US, Mexico and Canada.
