Morocco’s futsal team has moved a step closer to retaining its regional title as it qualified Sunday for the finals of the 6th edition of the Arab Futsal Cup, after defeating Egypt 5-2. The Atlas Lions will face off Irak on Tuesday and try to grab the title for the second time in a row. The defending champions had won all the group stage games, defeating Kuwait (6-4), Somalia (16-0), and Mauritania (13-0). In the quarter-finals, they had eliminated Libya (3-0), and in the semi-finals Egypt (5-2). The Atlas Lions have risen to 10th place in the Futsal world ranking, updated on Saturday, June 25, 2022 with a total score of 1429 points.
