Apple sets up site to check for faulty iPhone 6s batteries - Tech News

Apparently, the battery issues affect a certain number of iPhone 6s models (not the 6s Plus) manufactured between September and October of 2015. The company is now offering a free battery replacement programme for the affected devices and has set up a website here for you to check whether your iPhone 6s is affected. If your iPhone 6s is eligible for the free battery replacement, you can take it in to an Apple Authorised Service Provider to have the iPhone examined and replaced. The iPhone 6s issue follows another separate issue that seems to affect only iPhone 6s Plus models – a so-called "Touch Disease" issue which causes the touchscreen on the iPhone 6s Plus to become unresponsive due to the touchscreen controller chip coming loose if the iPhone 6s Plus has had a fall or a hard knock. However, unlike the free battery replacement for the iPhone 6s, Apple is charging users RM629 to fix the touchscreen issue in the iPhone 6s Plus.
