In addition, Apple has reportedly told employees not to use Microsoft (NASDAQ: ) owned GitHub's Copilot, which automates software code writing. When people use AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, data is sent back to the developer to enable improvements, which then opens up the potential for a company's private data to be unintentionally shared. Apple isn't the only company to have barred its employees from using external artificial intelligence tools, with the WSJ stating that JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: ) and Verizon (NYSE: ) have barred the use.
