Apple may design its own iPhone power management chips in 2018


The 2018 iPhone might finally solve an important issue – battery life. The iPhone 8 and iPhone X successor are said to come with a brand new power management chips which might be the “most advanced in the industry”. According to a report by Nikkei, the company is currently designing its own main power management chips for use in iPhones as early as in 2018. Up until now, British company Dialog Semiconductor has been designing the main power management chip for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch models. According to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, all three models will be equipped with a full-screen notched design and TrueDepth camera system like the iPhone X.
