Over the weekend, Apple was forced to remove the VPN apps from the local version of the App Store after the Chinese government appears to have sent a message on government censorship. We have been required to remove some VPN apps in China that do not meet the new regulations. Several VPN companies knocked the move, saying Apple may not fully realize what it has done by removing these apps. StarVPN, which had its VPN app blocked, tweeted the movie is a "dangerous precedent." Apple reports third-quarter earnings on Aug. 1, which Drexel Hamilton analyst Brian White noted could see another drop in Greater China sales.
