WSJ's Joanna Stern compares the new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, the old MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air during a jam-packed day. Last year, the MacBook Pro (herein referred to as the “old MacBook Pro”) took the place of the MacBook Air as my favorite laptop. The old MacBook Pro models remain on shelves for $1,300 and up, right next to the three new pricier Pro models. After hours of testing, my advice is see where the new MacBook Pro is better, the same and, yes, worse than the old MacBook Pro, then decide what matters to you. Compared with my rotting MacBook Air and the old MacBook Pro, the new Pros look like they’ve been on a serious juice cleanse.
