Leave it to Apple not to do anything small. That goes for the company’s first formal preannouncement in recent memory. On Wednesday afternoon, Apple Inc. cut its revenue estimate for its fiscal first quarter ended December to $84 billion. That is $7 billion lower than the midpoint of its previously projected range of $89 billion to $93 billion—a reduction of about 8%.
