K. Akonnor. Akonnor was drafted into the Black Stars bench by Appiah to help in the team AFCON qualifiers double header against South African and Sao Tome and Principe to allow for Coach Ibrahim Tanko concentrate on his current role as the head coach of the Black Meteors. Appiah said “for me is the assistant who does most of the work. If you are a head coach and you are out there sometimes your mind goes somewhere. “There is not much that you can do as a coach when you are out there but they actually play and do much of the work for you”, Coach Appiah said.
