Appeal Court's full verdict on petition against Gotabhaya to be delivered tomorrow


NewsThe Appeal Court's full verdict outlining the decisions to reject a petition challenging Presidential candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa's dual citizenship is to be delivered tomorrow (Oct 15). Earlier this month, the Appeal Court rejected a petition filed by two civic activists who argued that the dual citizenship certificate of Rajapaksa was invalid - a case which could have obstructed the candidature of Rajapaksa. A judge bench comprising Appeal Court President Yasantha Kodagoda, Arjuna Obeysekera, and Mahinda Samayawardana will issue the final verdict containing the reasons to dismiss the petition, tomorrow.
