Apex Legends needs to kill its paid loot boxes. Apex Legends’ loot boxes are no exception, and while EA attracted flack for “selling power” in Battlefront 2’s loot boxes, whether it’s power or just coveted cosmetics, it doesn’t matter. On top of the overall concept, the current Apex Legends loot box system is badly unrewarding. Look at Fortnite vs. Overwatch, the latter entirely supported by loot boxes minus its up-front cost. Apex Legends’ loot boxes are garbage compared to Overwatch’s and the idea of loot boxes in general is garbage compared to an up-front, coherent store/battle pass system like Fortnite.
