Anwar, AIIB president discuss sustainable development agenda

KUALA LUMPUR (April 3): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the president and chair of the Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Zou Jiayi, have discussed a sustainable development agenda covering the transition to green energy as well as the empowerment of digital infrastructure and advanced technology. Anwar, who is also the Minister of Finance, said he received Zou's courtesy visit on Thursday. "The government will continue to ensure that the country's investment ecosystem remains conducive, competitive, and integrity-driven, while strengthening the domestic economic foundation so that Malaysia remains stable, strong, and resilient in the face of current geopolitical challenges and uncertainties," said Anwar. AIIB, headquartered in Beijing, China, is a multilateral development bank whose mission is to finance future infrastructure in Asia and beyond, with sustainability at its core. It began operations in 2016 and has since grown to have 111 approved members worldwide.
