Anti-Corruption Bureau to probe in Jalyukt Shivar corruption work


The Maharashtra State Legislative Council chairman has ordered the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) to investigate into the alleged corruption of Rs 13,000 crore worth of Jalyukt Shivar – watershed management projects in Maharashtra. NCP MLC Hemant Takle raised the point of order asking the slew of corruption cases in Jalyukt Shivar work. Tanaji Sawant, water conservation minister informed that the government will ask the ACB to conduct the inquiry into the Jalyukt Shivar work. "Complaints have been filed with the water conservation department about irregularities in some 1,300 work under the Jalyukt Shivar scheme. Thus, it is inappropriate to order an ACB inquiry in watershed management projects under Jalyukt Shivar.
